Our Story

City Bird was born to fill a void. When Tamar Eisenman noticed that the available offerings of children's music didn’t reflect the experiences of her own family—two moms and their daughter—she teamed up with longtime friend and musical collaborator Sagit Shir. Together, they envisioned a project where all children could feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. This was the germination of City Birds, followed by a journey of exploration where Tamar & Sagit went on to create music that looks up to children as the intelligent, sophisticated and ever learning creatures that they are. Tamar and Sagit bring the same sensitivity, attention, and artistic integrity to City Birds as they do to their adult-oriented work, maintaining the highest standards of creativity and care.
